Think of a 1-2 (jab + cross). Plain and simple, right? You might think that.
Now, think of all the possibilities that combination can make.
Body jab - cross.
Jab - body cross.
Slip - jab - cross.
Jab - slip - cross.
Jab - sidestep - cross.
The list goes on, and on, and on. If you try to name or practice all of the possible sequences in the gym or the ring, you just burn out. If you just practice the 1-2, all of these infinite variations naturally come to you at the perfect time and place.
The same applies to EVERY technique in boxing.
Action Step: Practice the simplest forms of boxing right now.
Stance: Practice standing properly (the most important)
Footwork: Practice the basic steps
Punching: Practice the basic six punches.
Defense: Practice head movement and defense.
Watch your boxing transform.
P.S. I built a free Discord for fighters who want to study boxing beyond combos and highlight reels.

This Saturday 5/23, at 10 AM, and Sunday 5/24, at 11 AM, we are hosting a free group call where everyone gets together to discuss technical boxing. Film analysis, breakdowns—the sweet stuff.
